Did you know that pollution is one of the main reason Sea Otters are endangered? Not just that, but a decent amount of Sea Otters prey, Sea Urchins, eat kelp. As well as how they live in Kelp, the loss of kelp causes endangerment.
Is it worth it?
The main reason Otters are endangered is oil spills, because unlike other marine animals they rely on their fur for insulation. This means when there is an oil spill Sea Otters lose their thermal protection.
How to prevent Sea Otter population decreasing?
- Buy less plastic, one small choice can affect Sea Otters more than you think.
- Try not to cause vehicle pollution by often riding a vehicle that does not waste fuel (like a bike) instead of car.
- Be aware of the dire effects of an oil spill so we can try to prevent them.
This text shows that,
What you do can always affect the animals around you, so please be aware that it is affecting otters.
We have to support Sea Otter’s right to,
Not go endangered because of humans mistakes and careless behaviors while the possibility for non-endangerment is still open.
